Waltham, MA 2/02/2009 - Jonathan Bartlett, a New York City-based illustrator, has donated his time and talent to SmallCanBeBig.org to create an 18x24 high-quality print poster to be offered for sale. Proceeds are, as ever, received with the belief that a small contribution goes toward creating something BIG: Helping a family over come the threat of homelessness, according to Amanda Zarle, executive director of the organization.
Wanting to "do something good ", Jonathan Bartlett found SCCB through a series of social networking connections. "I made contact, we discussed what I'd like to do and I made a few sketches for the group to consider and in a few weeks we had a finished poster. I'm very happy that it is popular, and doing good."
The poster, "A Joyful Gathering" depicts bees in a heart shape surrounding a flower and a caption to the illustration says " Small can be big". The poster, available only on the site, www.smallcanbebig.org sells for $35 and is available in a limited quantity.
Jonathan Bartlett's work has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, Runner's World, and The Deal, among others. He cites "hard work" and "a good metaphor" as things he loves.
